FRIDAY NIGHT SHABBAT DINNER SET-UP AND CLEAN-UP

 

 

Dinner begins at 7 pm: arrive to set up BY 6:40 pm

 

Bring the following as your contribution to the meal:

·      2 challot (NOT SLICED)

·      simple (supermarket type OK) bunch of flowers for the buffet table (or other appropriate centerpiece decoration, such as children’s artwork if applicable)

 

 

1.  DINNER PREPARATIONS

 

·      Tablecloths should be on tables:  if not, get more in kitchen (lower left cabinet)

·      All paper goods are stored in the kitchen in cupboards marked Movable Minyan (see diagram)

·      Set out the following items:

Plates (large and small), bowls, cups, utensils, napkins, serving utensils, kiddush cups (approximately 15 for wine, 10 for juice on separate large plates), wine and juice (check for open bottles in refrigerator:  use these first if still fresh)

·      Set out double-handled handwashing cup, large plastic bowl and pitcher of water

 

2.    KIDDUSH AND MEAL

 

·      Set out benchers on the dinner tables and extra kippot, brochures, and  flyers on table by door

·      Pour kiddush (wine and juice)

·      Unwrap challot, place on dinner table and cover with challah cover or napkins

·      Put candles, candle sticks and matches on dinner table

 

3.    CLEAN-UP

 

·      Replace paper goods and utensils in CORRECT CUPBOARDS

·      Make note of supplies that are low and TELL DEBBIE (either that day, or by e-mail/phone soon after)

·      Wipe down tables;  change cloths if very messy

·      Return benchers, kippot, etc to the book cabinet

·      Sweep floor

·      Take out all trash (dumpster is behind kitchen:  turn left out of kitchen door).  NOTE:  MAKE SURE BOTH KITCHEN DOORS ARE LOCKED FROM THE INSIDE
